Yesterday I started posting about my Lilley’s Cider advent calendar, and today’s another day. I’m actually opening my advent in the morning so I can see what I’ve got to look forward to, and then drinking my cider in the evening. I’ll then write about it, and publish the next day.
Day 5 – Mulled Cider
When I saw this was today’s offering, I was excited – I love mulled wine and was keen to try this. The website description says it includes “cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon”, but unfortunately, I didn’t really get all that. Or maybe if I tried really hard I could just about, but for me it just didn’t have enough punch. Mulled wine is such an assault on the senses, but this seemed so subtle I could barely tell what it was.
It wasn’t at all unpleasant, it was still (no sparkle) and really smooth, perfectly drinkable. To be fair, the website does also say that it “truly comes alive when served warm”, so maybe I’ll give it another try some time and warm it up.
For me, it was a little disappointing – 2/5.
